It was introduced to the public through the efforts of the artist Alemayehu Tafere (not Tadese, as some sources may say). He started by organizing concerts featuring Lali musicians and even composed his own songs Lali Bet to perform with them.

ዩ ሃንታ: With the growing popularity of this genre, other artists began to take notice. The late musician, Alemayehu Tafere (not Tadese) was one of the first to introduce Lali music to a wider audience through his concerts and compositions. He even went on to record some tracks featuring traditional lutes called "ኋቤ ሥጠ" (Hube Sate). This marked the beginning of Lali Bet becoming more mainstream.

2. ክባ፡ ና ጸደ : The rise to fame was swift, with other artists following in Alemayehu’s footsteps. Some notable names include Abebe Girmaye and Yohannes Bahta, who made significant contributions to the genre.

3. Lali Bet ጫሜ:: The influence of other cultures is evident in the traditional instruments used in Lali music. The most characteristic instrument associated with this style is the "ማይበ" (Mayebe) or Lute.

ኖ ኢ: One distinctive feature of Lali Bet, as opposed to other forms of Ethiopian folk music, is its rich melodic structure and complex harmonies. This characteristic set it apart from more primitive musical genres like Tigrawaw and Ayalew Mengistu’s "ይስቱ" (Yesut).

4. ና: The emergence of new artists brought about some changes in the sound, as they incorporated various elements such as vocal harmonies, traditional instrumentation, and a focus on storytelling through lyrics.

ጽ ኾ : Artists like Alemayehu Tafere introduced Western musical instruments to create a unique fusion that captivated listeners.
